Holunder is called Elderberry

Johanna made a refreshing drink for us after our hike. She had a shot of Elderberry syrup in a jug of cold water. There is nothing better when it is really hot! How do you make elderberry syrup?
You need 20 Elderberry blossoms, 4 lbs sugar, 3 lemons, 1 qt water. Cut the lemons and layer them with the blossoms and sugar. Pour water over them and let it stand for 3 days, stirring twice a day. Then press the syrup through a cheese cloth and fill into a bottle with a screw top. Serve by mixing the syrup 1:10 with sparkling water and ice cubes.
